LeapSprong Amsterdam is an innovation programme on a mission. We aim to accelerate solutions for a sustainable and circular energy system in the wider Amsterdam region.
Usage and upcycling of waste streams, including CO₂. Supporting technologies up or down the chain, such as carbon capture, are in scope too.
“Accu’t repurposes EV batteries to provide comprehensive, second-life energy storage solutions. Let’s grow a second-life EV-battery movement!”
Usage and upcycling of waste streams, including CO₂. Supporting technologies up or down the chain, such as carbon capture, are in scope too.
“Through the program, we are looking to setup a Carbon Capture and Utilisation project in the Amsterdam area.”

"We offer a CO2 utilization technology to convert CO2 into battery grade graphite and carbon nanotubes."
All start-ups met in Amsterdam from 2-4 October to kick-off the program and to get started on their collaboration proposals.
Time for inspiration during a labtour at the ETCA and a boat tour around the port area of Amsterdam.
On the last day of the kick-off, the startups pitched their solution and connected with the audience of ecosystem partners, investors, mentors and experts.
...with an innovative solution in the same space are awarded to join the LeapSprong Demo Day, pitch their idea and access the LeapSprong network. The teams are:
A smart decision support tool to plan CCS-projects, regardless of the amount of emissions.
TU Delft
A platform to connect electricity markets with manufacturers of energy-efficient assets.
University of Amsterdam
We use cyanobacteria to capture carbon dioxide directly in the cement production process.
Eindhoven University of Technology
A platform for direct trading with energy suppliers, grid operators and other companies.
University of Twente
Six start-ups took the jump with us on this journey. The Demo-Day marks the beginning of collaborative projects identified during the programme. Keep scrolling to find out which start-up landed an ETCA membership and which start-ups land a spot in LeapSprong 2.0: the six-month follow-up programme to support them in taking the next step in their projects.
